New Delhi, June 20, 2025: In a powerful affirmation of its commitment to wellness and holistic living, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21 with a nationwide initiative titled “Yoga Sangam.” The event aligns with the Ministry of AYUSH’s 2025 theme — Yoga for One Earth, One Health” — reflecting the global relevance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual harmony.

The central celebration will be held at the Coast Guard Complex in Sector 24, Noida, with Indian Coast Guard Director General Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, in attendance. The session will be led by expert instructors from the Yog Vandana Institute, offering participants a guided and immersive experience in yogic practices.

In the lead-up to the main event, the ICG has conducted a month-long series of Yoga Outreach Programmes across its network of coastal and island stations. These sessions, organized in collaboration with renowned wellness institutions such as the Brahma Kumaris, Heartfulness Institute, and Eco Yoga Schools, saw enthusiastic participation from thousands of ICG personnel and their families.

A notable highlight was a special yoga session held at the iconic Sudarshan Setu, blending tradition with modern infrastructure to symbolize unity and resilience. Participants engaged in a combination of asanas (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation — practices designed to enhance both individual well-being and collective harmony.

In addition to the Noida event, synchronized yoga sessions will be held at all Indian Coast Guard stations across the country on June 21, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to a culture of health, discipline, and mindfulness.

Yoga Sangam is more than a celebration — it is a reflection of the Indian Coast Guard’s ethos of integrating wellness into everyday duty and life,” said Commandant Amit Uniyal, Public Relations Officer, Indian Coast Guard.

The initiative underscores the Indian Coast Guard’s role not only as a maritime security force but also as a champion of wellness, fostering a healthier and more conscious society in service and beyond.
