To get ready for the coming monsoon season, Urkhao Gwra Brahma — the Minister of Handloom & Textiles, Soil Conservation, and Guardian Minister of Chirang — held a planning meeting on Saturday to check how well the district is prepared for floods.
The meeting took place at the District Commissioner’s Office in Chirang and included important officials. Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary and MLA Ajoy Kumar Ray also attended.
During the session, Minister Brahma evaluated the steps taken by the district administration to manage potential flood situations. He stressed the importance of coordination among departments and directed officials to act collectively and efficiently to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
District Commissioner Jatin Bora, Additional Deputy Commissioners Arup Choudhury and Silpika Kalita, Assistant Commissioners, the Circle Officer, and heads of various departments participated in the meeting.
The minister’s visit highlighted the government’s commitment to proactive disaster management and community safety in Chirang.
