New Delhi, July 11: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing, Ravneet Singh Bittu, has launched a scathing attack on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over his alleged derogatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Bittu not only condemned Mann’s language as “irresponsible and disgraceful” but also demanded the registration of an FIR against the Punjab Chief Minister.
In a sharply worded statement issued in the national capital, Bittu accused Mann of calling Amit Shah a “Tadipaar,” a term he described as “highly inappropriate and disrespectful.” The minister said such remarks from a sitting chief minister demean the dignity of public office and reflect a worrying decline in political discourse.
“Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly shown that he lacks the basic decency and maturity expected from someone holding constitutional authority,” said Bittu. “His comments are not just in bad taste but also reflect a disturbing disregard for democratic norms.”
Refuting any suggestion of personal proximity between Amit Shah and Bhagwant Mann, Bittu clarified that the Home Minister’s engagement with state governments—especially those in sensitive border regions like Punjab—is strictly professional and focused on national security. He highlighted the ongoing Operation Sindoor as a critical initiative against Pakistan, asserting that Shah’s coordination with state leaders must not be misrepresented.
Bittu also criticized Mann’s recent statements in the Punjab Assembly where the Chief Minister reportedly mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s international visits. Calling the remarks “immature and misleading,” Bittu emphasized that such diplomatic engagements are vital for strengthening India’s global standing in trade, technology, and strategy.
“It’s unfortunate that the Chief Minister of a border state chooses to trivialize India’s foreign policy initiatives without understanding their broader significance,” he added, referencing the Prime Minister’s current participation in the BRICS Summit.
Concluding his statement, Bittu urged law enforcement agencies to take legal action against CM Bhagwant Mann for allegedly insulting a constitutional authority and misleading the public with “irresponsible and inflammatory” remarks.
