New Delhi, August 7, 2025 – MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel platform, has taken a major leap in AI-driven innovation with the launch of its GenAI-powered Trip Planning Assistant, offering a seamless and conversational experience for travellers across India. The advanced tool aims to make travel booking more inclusive and accessible, particularly for non-English speakers, by supporting multilingual queries in both voice and text formats.
An evolution of the company’s existing AI agent Myra, the GenAI Trip Planning Assistant enables users to plan their entire travel journey—from destination discovery to booking and post-sales support—through natural, human-like conversations. Currently launched in Beta with support for English and Hindi, MakeMyTrip plans to expand the assistant’s capabilities to include more Indian languages based on early user feedback.
Unlike many global AI travel platforms that stop at recommendations, Myra allows users to complete bookings directly within the conversation, using real-time data on availability, pricing, and preferences. Whether users say, “Where can I go in August for a relaxing holiday with my kids?” or “Mujhe Udaipur mein 3-star hotel 3500 ke budget mein chahiye,” Myra processes the intent and converts it into actionable travel options—instantly.

“We have always believed that technology is at its best when it solves complex problems behind the scenes while making the customer interface intuitive,” said Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO, MakeMyTrip. “This launch is a step toward bringing seamless, intelligent travel booking to Bharat, empowering millions who’ve been underserved by digital platforms.”
Built on a multi-agent AI framework, the assistant integrates specialized agents for flights, hotels, holidays, ground transport, visas, and forex. It supports multimodal inputs—voice, text, images, and even videos—allowing users to engage with the platform more intuitively. Travelers can edit itineraries, ask follow-up questions, and even access post-booking services within the same interface.
Sanjay Mohan, Group CTO at MakeMyTrip, described the rollout as one of the company’s most ambitious tech undertakings. “We’ve developed custom language models, layered with real-time planning, scheduling, and verification systems. The result is a dynamic AI assistant that collaborates across travel categories to deliver a smooth, intelligent experience.”
MakeMyTrip has been an early adopter of GenAI, integrating it into its core booking experience since 2023. The platform has consistently leveraged technology to address real-world travel challenges, from introducing Fare Lock and Zero Cancellation to voice-based customer service and predictive train booking tools.
Looking ahead, the company plans to enhance the assistant with semantic search, AI-driven image and video analysis, and deeper personalization tools, enabling more intent-led, abstract user queries.
With this groundbreaking move, MakeMyTrip is set to redefine how Indians plan and experience travel—one conversation at a time.
