New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited Jhandewalan Temple on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri to seek the blessings of Maa Durga and pray for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Delhi.
During her visit, the Chief Minister performed traditional rituals and offered prayers to the Goddess, marking the beginning of the nine-day festival dedicated to Maa Durga.
Gupta prayed for peace, happiness and prosperity for all Delhi residents as devotees across the capital began celebrating Navratri with religious fervour.
Sharadiya Navratri is an important Hindu festival observed over nine days, with devotees worshipping the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Temples across Delhi witness large gatherings during the festival, as people offer prayers and participate in traditional rituals.
The Chief Minister’s visit to Jhandewalan Temple marked the start of the auspicious festival with prayers for the welfare of the city and its residents.
