The Telangana government is using the upcoming Miss World pageant to promote tourism and support Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s goal of making the state a top global travel spot.

With contestants from over 120 countries and broadcast coverage reaching more than 150 nations, the Miss World event offers Telangana a unique platform to exhibit its cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and modern infrastructure to an international audience. This initiative is a part of a broader government strategy aimed at attracting tourism investments exceeding ₹15,000 crore and increasing domestic and international tourist arrivals.

As part of the campaign, Miss World contestants will embark on a tour of Telangana’s iconic sites. Highlights include visits to the Thousand Pillar Temple, Warangal Fort, Bhadrakali Temple, and the UNESCO-listed Ramappa Temple.

The schedule begins with a ‘Heritage Walk’ through Charminar and Laad Bazaar on May 12, showcasing Hyderabad’s vibrant legacy. The following day, contestants will tour Warangal’s heritage monuments and witness a live Perini Dance performance at Ramappa Temple.

On May 15, the delegation will visit Yadagirigutta temple and Pochampally, where they will see live handloom weaving demonstrations. May 16 focuses on medical tourism, with visits to healthcare institutions, Hyderabad’s Experience Park, and the Pillalamarri site.

Ramoji Film City, one of the largest film studios in the world, will host the contestants on May 17. The itinerary on May 18 includes a tour of the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre, highlighting the state’s public safety systems. That evening, a presentation on Telangana’s development journey will precede a visit to the Sunday-Funday Carnival at Tank Bund.

On May 21, they will take part in an arts and crafts workshop at Shilparamam, interacting with local artisans and learning about traditional crafts.

This global event is poised to elevate Telangana’s profile as a multi-faceted tourism destination, showcasing everything from heritage and spirituality to wellness, handlooms, and cinema. The state government sees this initiative as a step toward inclusive growth and employment generation while spotlighting Telangana’s distinct identity on the world stage.
