PM Modi Addresses the Nation After Ceasefire: No More Tolerance for Terror, India Will Respond with Force

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation Monday evening following a 51-hour ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, issuing a stern warning that “blood and water cannot flow together.” In his 22-minute televised speech, he discussed the recent Pahalgam terror attack, India’s military retaliation through “Operation Sindoor,” and the country’s uncompromising stance on terrorism and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Pahalgam Terror Attack: ‘An Attempt to Shatter National Harmony’

PM Modi described the April 22 Pahalgam attack as an act of unimaginable brutality, where terrorists massacred innocent civilians, including children, in front of their families. He said the attack was not just a strike on lives but a calculated attempt to disrupt India’s social fabric. “The pain was deeply personal,” he added, “but the nation’s united voice demanded a strong and decisive response.”

Operation Sindoor: India’s Bold Military Response to Terror

Emphasizing India’s strong retaliation, PM Modi praised the success of Operation Sindoor, a strategic strike targeting terror bases inside Pakistan. “Our daughters lost their sindoor, and we made sure the terrorists lost everything,” he stated firmly.

He outlined three clear messages from Operation Sindoor:

  1. India will strike back—swiftly and decisively—against any terror attack.
  2. Nuclear blackmail will not be tolerated. If Pakistan uses its nuclear status to shelter terrorists, India will respond with precision and finality.
  3. Terror groups and their political sponsors will be treated as one. PM Modi condemned Pakistan’s military for attending the funerals of slain terrorists, calling it undeniable evidence of state-sponsored terrorism.

India Showcases Indigenous Military Power in Modern Warfare

Highlighting India’s technological edge, PM Modi said the operation showcased India’s superiority in new-age warfare and validated the performance of domestically developed weapons. “Made-in-India defense equipment has proven its credibility on the global stage,” he affirmed, suggesting a turning point in how the world views India’s military capabilities.

PM Modi referenced long-standing global concerns about Pakistan’s role in harboring terrorism, linking training camps in Bahawalpur and Muridke to international attacks including 9/11 and the London Tube bombings. “These aren’t just terror hideouts—they are universities of global terrorism,” he said.

He added that many key terrorists operating against India had been roaming freely in Pakistan for decades. “We have now dismantled their safe havens, and many of those masterminds are no more.”

Pakistan Retaliation Fails as Indian Defense Systems Stand Strong

In a desperate response to India’s offensive, Pakistan targeted civilian areas and military bases, including gurdwaras and schools. However, PM Modi said Pakistan’s aggression was quickly neutralized. Indian air defense systems destroyed incoming drones and missiles mid-air, exposing the weakness of Pakistan’s military strategy.

“Our response struck not just at the borders but at the heart of their defense infrastructure. The damage was beyond what Pakistan could imagine in just three days,” he added.

India Agrees to Ceasefire, But Keeps Military Action on Hold—Not Abandoned

PM Modi clarified that India agreed to the ceasefire at Pakistan’s request, after it suffered significant damage. “We have only paused our military operations—not abandoned them. Our future course will depend on Pakistan’s behavior,” he emphasized.

He reaffirmed that Indian armed forces across the Army, Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary units remain on high alert.

Blood and Water Cannot Flow Together: Revisiting the Indus Waters Treaty

Reiterating a long-standing position, PM Modi declared that terror and talks cannot go hand in hand, nor can trade and terror coexist. He warned that the Indus Waters Treaty would be under review if Pakistan continued to back terrorism. “We have made it clear: discussions, if any, will only be on terrorism and PoK,” he said.

Buddha Purnima Message: Strength Is Essential for Peace

“Lord Buddha showed us the path of peace, but that path must be protected through strength,” he stated. “India must be powerful if we are to live peacefully and achieve the dream of a developed nation.”

He concluded by saluting the armed forces and expressing gratitude to every Indian for their unity and resilience.
