Operation Sindoor : India and Pakistan have been entangled in conflict for decades, with the role of global powers shifting over time., Pakistan was  with the U.S During the Cold War between US and Russia and the Western bloc, while India maintained strong ties with the Soviet Union. Though Pakistan received American support during the 1965 and 1971 wars, it was India that emerged victorious.

After the Cold War, global dynamics changed significantly

Operation Sindoor : After the Cold War, global dynamics changed significantly. Today, India is the world’s fourth-largest economy and maintains strong trade relations with major powers such as the U.S., China, Russia, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to face economic challenges and relies heavily on aid from China, Saudi Arabia, and international financial institutions.

Turkey’s President Erdoğan recently expressed support for Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia, traditionally a Pakistani ally, has adopted a neutral stance this time and has shown support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts.
Iran, once aligned with Pakistan on issues like Kashmir, is now taking a neutral position and advocating for de-escalation.

Countries like Israel, France, Russia, and the U.S. have supported India in its fight against terrorism. American politician Nikki Haley and former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have also expressed support for India’s military actions.

Global alignments are shifting

India’s rising economic and strategic influence has enhanced its global standing, while Pakistan’s role has diminished. In today’s world, a country’s credibility and impact are judged more by its economic partnerships than historical alliances — and by that measure, India stands strong.
