Over 1.94 crore devotees had already taken a holy dip at the sacred Sangam, with the numbers expected to reach 2.5 crore by the end of the day. The influx of pilgrims stretched across 15 kilometers, creating a spiritual spectacle like no other.

In a remarkable display of communal harmony, members of the Muslim community showered 25 quintals of flower petals on devotees from helicopters. Additionally, on Katju Road, worshippers gathered outside Abdullah Mosque and warmly welcomed the pilgrims by offering flowers and food.

Due to the heavy rush, authorities implemented significant traffic modifications. Entry of vehicles into Prayagraj was entirely restricted, with no transport allowed inside the mela area. Devotees had to walk 8-10 kilometers to reach the Sangam. Limited shuttle buses were deployed from parking zones to assist the pilgrims.

Former Cricketer Anil Kumble Joins the Holy Dip

Among the notable attendees, former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble took a ritualistic bath at the Sangam, adding to the spiritual fervor of the event.

Mahakumbh 2025: Security Reinforced with Heavy Deployment

To ensure safety and smooth movement, paramilitary forces were stationed at the Sangam. Security personnel regulated the crowd by preventing long halts at the bathing sites. Many devotees were redirected to other ghats for their sacred dip.For the first time, the administration deployed 15 District Magistrates, 20 IAS officers, and 85 PCS officers to oversee crowd control and ensure seamless execution of the religious gathering.

In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath closely monitored the Mahakumbh proceedings from a dedicated war room at his official residence. He was joined by DGP Prashant Kumar, Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, and other senior officials.

Sacred Timings and Completion of Kalpavas

According to astrologers, the auspicious time for Magh Purnima Snan will last until 7:22 PM. To facilitate a smoother exit for devotees, major sites like the Akshayavat, Digital Mahakumbh Center, and the revered Leete Hanuman Temple were temporarily closed. Additionally, the conclusion of Kalpavas is marked by nearly 10 lakh devotees preparing to return home post-bathing rituals.

Historical Turnout and Upcoming Snan on Mahashivratri

As Mahakumbh enters its 31st day, it has already witnessed four major bathing festivals since its commencement on January 13. An estimated 48.19 crore devotees have participated so far. The final bathing event is set for February 26 on the occasion of Mahashivratri, drawing the grand spiritual gathering to a close.

The Mahakumbh continues to stand as a symbol of faith, devotion, and unity, drawing millions from across the world to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
