A remarkable surge in travel and hotel bookings has been recorded during the event, contributing significantly to the earnings of travel and hospitality sectors.

Prayagraj is currently witnessing an overwhelming influx of pilgrims, with bustling activity at transportation hubs like railway stations. To manage the crowd, authorities have implemented measures such as allowing access to platforms only as trains arrive, ensuring smooth movement and avoiding overcrowding.

Special dates during the Maha Kumbh have seen a staggering 162% increase in bookings for trains, flights, and hotels. Online platforms such as OYO, MakeMyTrip, and EaseMyTrip are experiencing significant demand, while local travel agents and service providers are also benefiting from the surge.

In response to the high volume of visitors, several temporary accommodations, including tent cities and luxury cottages, have been set up. These include Dome City and Tent City, which cater to international and high-profile visitors. The cost of staying in these tents ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹1,11,000 per day, while luxury cottages in Dome City are priced at ₹91,000 per night. Many of these accommodations, especially those pre-booked by devotees from countries like Mauritius, the Netherlands, the United States, and England, are already sold out.

The spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh was on full display during the Amrit Snan (Sacred Bath) at 6 AM, with saints adorned in traditional attire wielding swords, tridents, and damrus, chanting “Har Har Mahadev” as they made their way to the ghats. For the first time in the history of Maha Kumbh, the term “Amrit Snan” has replaced “Shahi Snan,” following a proposal by the Akharas to bring a fresh perspective to this holy ritual.
