New Delhi, April 2025 — The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a key enterprise under the Ministry of Tourism, has announced the appointment of senior IAS officer Smt. Mugdha Sinha as its new Managing Director. A 1999 batch officer of the Rajasthan cadre, Sinha steps into the role with over 20 years of administrative and policy experience.
Bringing a reputation for strategic leadership and innovation, Sinha has held several influential positions in the government. Most recently, she served as Director General of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, where she played a vital role in integrating innovation and big data into tourism policymaking. Her tenure also includes serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, where she led the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) division, strengthening the bridge between cultural preservation and tourism promotion.
At ITDC, Sinha will oversee a wide portfolio of operations, ranging from the iconic Ashok Group of Hotels to Ashok Events, Ashok Travels & Tours, Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIH&TM), and international trade through duty-free outlets. The Corporation also manages catering services and consultancy in engineering and hospitality.
