The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Shoor, a state-of-the-art Offshore Patrol Vessel, has arrived in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for a goodwill visit from 15 to 21 February 2025. During its stay in Abu Dhabi, ICGS Shoor will engage in high-level professional interactions with the UAE National Coast Guard (UAE NCG). These discussions will focus on key areas such as Maritime Search and Rescue (M-SAR), Maritime Pollution Response (MPR), and Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE). By fostering operational coordination and intelligence sharing, this collaboration aims to enhance regional maritime security and collective preparedness against emerging threats.
Participation in IDEX/NAVDEX 2025

A significant highlight of the visit is ICGS Shoor’s participation in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX-2025) and Naval Defence Exhibition & Conference (NAVDEX-2025) at Port Zayed, Abu Dhabi. As premier global defense exhibitions, IDEX and NAVDEX provide a strategic platform for India to showcase its advanced maritime capabilities, cutting-edge defense technologies, and commitment to international security cooperation. In alignment with India’s commitment to environmental conservation, 15 National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets onboard ICGS Shoor will participate in outreach activities under the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan initiative. Following its visit to Abu Dhabi, ICGS Shoor is scheduled to make a port call in Muscat, Oman, on 25 February 2025, further consolidating India’s strategic maritime engagements in the Gulf region.
