Event to Highlight Innovative Projects from More Than 80 Institutions and 1,800 Participants

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has declared the first-ever AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest 2025, which will be held on March 7, 2025, at AICTE headquarters, New Delhi. The event shall gather more than 80 institutions from throughout the nation, providing a vibrant platform for the presentation of state-of-the-art technological projects that are developed in AICTE’s IDEA Labs. With a projected attendance of more than 1,800 participants, comprising students, teachers, industry specialists, and tech enthusiasts, the event shall celebrate creativity, technical talent, and innovation.

A Platform for Collaboration and Technological Advancement

The AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest seeks to establish a collaborative interaction between educational institutions, industry majors, and potential innovators by offering them an opportunity to interact and explore novel technological developments. The participants can take part in live demonstrations and interactive exhibits and get to network with innovators in the field of education, research, and technology.

The conference will include a technical panel discussion, which will gather top experts to deliberate on the impact of technology on the future of industry and education. “The IDEA Lab program is an integral component of AICTE’s initiative to facilitate innovation and experiential learning in technical education,” stated Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, who will be the chief guest for the inauguration of the event.

Recognizing Excellence in Innovation

One of the important features of the Tech Fest is the judging process, in which an expert panel of judges will scrutinize the projects that will be showcased during the event. Awards will be presented to the best three inventions, in turn promoting the further development of pioneering solutions in STEM areas.

AICTE Vice Chairman, Dr. Abhay Jere, and AICTE Member Secretary, Prof. Rajive Kumar, will also join to underscore the importance of the IDEA Lab initiative in shaping the future of India’s technical education.

AICTE IDEA Lab: Empowering Students to Innovate

Starting 2021, the AICTE IDEA Lab project empowers Indian technical institutions with state-of-the-art labs to help them experiment, prototype, and create real-world applications. As part of the program, students learn by practice, using the principles of STEM to develop new ideas that solve the gap between abstract knowledge and practical use.

To date in 2025, 318 new IDEA Labs have been approved, increasing the number of 115 established labs in the country, testament to AICTE’s commitment to increasing chances for young entrepreneurs. These labs are crucial for developing critical thinking, problem-solving, design thinking, teamwork, and communication—the very skills the future engineer and entrepreneur needs to possess.

An Event Not to Be Missed

The AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest 2025 will be an event not to be missed by anyone interested in technology and innovation. The public, students, teachers, and professionals are all welcome to experience firsthand the potential for change through STEM education in the hands of India’s future leaders
