New Delhi, February 10:
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated new academic blocks at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Dilshad Garden, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden, and launched 101 state-of-the-art ICT laboratories to strengthen digital education in government schools.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said the Delhi government’s focus was not limited to creating physical infrastructure but was aimed at ensuring world-class education supported by modern technology. She said smart classrooms, digital labs and upgraded facilities would play a key role in improving learning outcomes in government schools.

Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, MLA Harish Khurana and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Highlighting the progress made by the Education Department during its 355 days in office, Gupta said the inauguration of new school buildings, the launch of over 101 computer laboratories and the development of modern academic infrastructure reflected the government’s commitment to educational reform. She also acknowledged the contribution of the Ladli Foundation and the American India Foundation, stating that collaboration between the government and society was essential for meaningful change.
Under corporate social responsibility initiatives, more than 2,000 computers have been deployed across schools, providing a major boost to digital learning, she said.
The Chief Minister said the government aimed to make Delhi the state with the highest number of smart classrooms, computer labs, language labs and modern sports facilities. Alongside academics, she added, special emphasis was being placed on sports and nutrition.
Gupta further said that 75 CM Shri Schools would be inaugurated within the department’s one-year tenure, serving as model institutions for educational excellence. She added that the ‘Neev’ curriculum would focus on inculcating values such as ethics, civic responsibility and patriotism among students.

At Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Mansarovar Garden, a newly constructed ground-plus-three-storey building with 29 classrooms was inaugurated. At the DIET campus in Dilshad Garden, a similar ground-plus-three-storey academic block comprising 19 classrooms was opened to support teacher training and educational innovation.
As part of the initiative supported by the American India Foundation in collaboration with the Ladli Foundation, 101 ICT laboratories have been set up in government schools across Delhi. Each lab is equipped with 20 computers and an Interactive Flat Panel Display, along with digital skills training programmes and workshops for teachers and students.
