Inaugurated on World EV Day, the hub can charge 16 electric vehicles at once and is powered entirely by green energy
Mumbai, September 9, 2025 — In a major boost to India’s EV ecosystem, Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM) today inaugurated the country’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger hub in Mumbai. The facility, strategically located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at The Leela Mumbai Hotel, was launched on World EV Day by Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power, and Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. & TPEM.
The premium fast-charging hub, the first co-branded initiative under the TATA.ev MegaCharger program, is equipped with eight high-speed DC chargers (up to 120 kW) offering 16 charging bays. It is open 24/7 and can serve a wide range of EV users — from private car owners and fleet operators to taxis, ride-hailing services, and logistics players.
Dr. Praveer Sinha said the launch marks a new benchmark for sustainable mobility in India. “Strategically located and powered entirely by renewable energy, this hub reflects our integrated approach to driving India’s green mobility transition,” he noted.
Highlighting the collaboration, Shailesh Chandra added, “The inauguration of this TATA.ev MegaCharger — the first of many — is a significant milestone in our mission to build fast, reliable charging infrastructure across India.”
The hub adds to Tata Power’s 1,000+ green charging points across Mumbai and will integrate with the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which already has over 4 lakh registered users. TATA.ev customers will also enjoy exclusive benefits, including up to 25% discounts and priority access through both the EZ Charge App and soon via the iRA.ev Connected Car app.
The launch reinforces Tata Group’s leadership in shaping India’s EV future by combining clean energy with large-scale, accessible charging infrastructure.
