HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, in collaboration with the Indian Army and CSC e-Governance Services, has announced the expansion of Project ‘Naman’ to 26 new locations under the Directorate of Army Veterans (DIAV). This initiative is designed to provide essential services to army veterans, their families, and close relatives, including pension-related services, government-to-citizen (G2C) services, and business-to-consumer (B2C) services.

The project aims to simplify access to financial and government services for veterans through CSC (Common Service Centres) operated by veterans or their families. These centres will offer localized services, ensuring seamless delivery of essential services right at the veterans’ doorstep.

The partnership is focused on offering skills development and training in financial products and services, helping veterans and their families achieve financial independence.

Satyen Modi, CEO of CSC Academy Mr. Sanjay Rakesh, and Brigadier Praveen Chandekar from the Indian Army, attended the signing of the MoU.

The first phase, launched in September 2023, saw the establishment of CSC centers at 14 DIAV locations.

As part of HDFC Bank’s ‘Parivartan’ program, the bank aims to build financial inclusion for army veterans and their families. Like the 14 existing DIAV locations, the new centers will also focus on financial literacy and skills training, empowering veterans and their families to become financially self-sufficient. Additionally, operators of these CSC centers will receive monetary grants for the first 12 months to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.

Project ‘Naman’ represents a significant step towards improving the welfare and economic empowerment of Indian Army veterans and their families, making vital services more accessible at the grassroots level.
