Dwarka Bangiya Samaj’s 20-Year-Old Durga Puja Set to Illuminate West Delhi

New Delhi: West Delhi’s Dwarka Sub-City is gearing up for one of its most awaited cultural events — the Sharodotsav 2025, organised by Dwarka Bangiya Samaj (DBS). Known as one of the oldest and most revered Durga Puja celebrations in the region, this two-decade-old tradition took place from September 27 to October 2 at DDA Park, Sector 6, Dwarka.

Durga Pooja : Drawing nearly 30,000 visitors daily

The DBS Durga Puja has become a cultural landmark, attracting people from all walks of life. The celebration features theme-based pandals crafted by artisans from Bengal, offering a stunning visual experience for devotees and visitors. The pandal setup includes a mandap for Goddess Durga, a large cultural programme stage, seating for over 3,000 attendees, food stalls, a kitchen for daily bhog preparation, and separate arrangements for senior citizens.

Durga Pooja : In keeping with its social responsibility, DBS has been actively promoting environmental awareness since 2018, advocating against single-use plastics.

The festivities go beyond rituals, featuring a lineup of cultural programmes and musical nights that have previously seen performances by celebrated artists such as Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, and Mika Singh, alongside rising stars from shows like Zee Sa Re Ga Ma and Indian Idol.

True to its community spirit, DBS serves prasad and bhog to 3,500–4,000 devotees daily, making the festival a blend of spirituality, culture, and togetherness. The event is supported by several corporates and institutions, including Sri Venkateswara University, under the guidance of Founder President and Chancellor Sudhir Giri.

Community involvement is central to the initiatives of DBS. The organization provides daily prasad and bhog to around 3,500 to 4,000 individuals, guaranteeing that devotees are blessed while enjoying delightful meals. With its steadfast dedication to cultural preservation and community well-being, Dwarka Bangiya Samaj remains a symbol of tradition and unity in West Delhi. This year’s celebrations are scheduled from September 27th to October 2nd.
