Chhaava Becomes a Box Office Sensation, Crosses Rs 121 Crore Mark
Chhaava: Vicky Kaushal’s latest period drama, Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, is making waves at the box office. The film has emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood release of 2025 so far, delivering an impressive opening weekend performance.
Chhaava’s Strong Opening Weekend in India
According to reports from Sacnilk, film has surpassed expectations, collecting Rs 121.43 crores in India alone within its first three days. The movie saw a remarkable jump in earnings on Sunday, bringing in Rs 49.03 crores. This significant boost helped the film surpass the Rs 100 crore milestone domestically in just three days.
Saturday proved to be another strong day for the film, as it added Rs 53 crores to its global earnings, pushing the total worldwide box office collection beyond the Rs 100 crore mark. In India, the gross earnings stand at Rs 81.6 crores, while overseas collections contributed another Rs 18.4 crores. Official figures confirm that Chhaava amassed Rs 72.40 crores within its first two days of release.
Chhaava’s Exceptional Theatrical Occupancy
With an overall occupancy rate of 62.48 percent on Sunday, it continued its domination in theaters across the country. Pune led in occupancy with an outstanding 94.50 percent across 736 shows. Mumbai followed closely behind, recording an 87.25 percent occupancy rate with 1,441 shows. Other major cities also saw substantial audience turnout:
- Hyderabad – 72.50 percent (345 shows)
- Chennai – 72 percent (94 shows)
- Delhi-NCR – 44 percent (1,356 shows)

The film, backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, stars Rashmika Mandanna alongside Vicky Kaushal in leading roles. Additionally, seasoned actors like Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta add to the film’s cinematic appeal.
