India Creates History
With this victory, India has become the first country to win three T20 World Cup titles. The team previously lifted the trophy in 2007 and 2024, and the 2026 triumph marks their third championship. This was also the first time India won the T20 World Cup on home soil.
Currently, India holds three T20 World Cup titles, while the West Indies cricket team and the England cricket team have each won the tournament twice.

Following the historic victory, players celebrated the moment in different ways. Team captain Suryakumar Yadav was seen posing with the trophy during a special photoshoot at the historic Adalaj ni Vav stepwell in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The 500-year-old architectural landmark provided a unique backdrop for the celebratory photos.
