New Delhi, June 21, 2025: In a landmark celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2025, the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, brought together leaders and employees from nearly 25 PSUs for a large-scale yoga session at The Ashok, New Delhi. Held in partnership with the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), the event emphasized holistic well-being under the global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

Led by expert instructors from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), the session witnessed active participation from the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, and officials from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), Cement Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIL), Electronics Corporation of India Ltd. (ECIL), NHPC, NBCC, ITI, National Divyangjan Finance & Development Corporation (NDFC), and NSFDC, among others.

In her address, Ms. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC, highlighted the deeper essence of the occasion, stating,

“Yoga is not merely a physical discipline; it is a quiet revolution rooted in self-awareness, balance, and collective well-being. This year’s theme powerfully underscores the connection between personal wellness and environmental harmony.”

She also acknowledged the collective effort, calling the gathering a “whole of CPSE approach”, where public sector institutions joined forces to champion a common wellness goal.

“By integrating yoga into our institutional ethos, we’re not only nurturing healthier individuals but also building a more resilient, mindful nation,” she added, thanking both SCOPE and MDNIY for their collaboration and support.

Echoing the sentiment, Mr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman, SCOPE and CMD of NBCC, remarked,

“Seeing so many PSU leaders united in mindfulness reaffirms that wellness must be at the core of leadership and governance. SCOPE is proud to support a culture where the well-being of the soul, mind, and body becomes central to public sector workplaces.”

The Ashok, ITDC’s flagship hotel and the venue of the event, once again demonstrated its legacy as more than just a hospitality destination—serving as a symbol of purpose-driven leadership and mindful progress.

This event marked a significant step in ITDC’s ongoing mission to embed wellness practices across the public sector, promoting healthier lifestyles and workplace mindfulness across India’s PSU ecosystem.
